Approvals

Answer the decisions, questions and things to read that workflows send you.

Guide 4109Updated

Some workflows stop and wait for a person: a manager has to approve a discount, a salesperson has to fill in details, or someone has to confirm they read a notice. Each of these lands on the Approvals page for the person the workflow names. As soon as you reply, the workflow carries on.

Open Approvals under Work in the left menu.

Three kinds of request

  • A decision: press Approve or Reject. The workflow may use its own words for the two buttons.
  • A question: fill in the fields and press Send answers. Fields marked with * are required.
  • Something to read: press I've read it.

Questions and things to read may also have a Decline button, when the workflow allows it.

Each request shows what it is about, a link to the record it concerns, when it was asked and who it is for. Depending on the workflow, there may be a box for a note with your reply. If the note is required, the box says so.

Requests sent to several people

When a workflow asks several people, the request says how they decide:

  • everyone asked must approve
  • most of those asked must approve
  • asked one after another

If the others decide before you do, your request is closed and shows Decided by the others. If nobody replies in the time the workflow allows, it shows No reply in time.

See what you have answered

Waiting shows what still needs your reply. Done shows what you have answered, with your reply and the date.
