Connect Facebook and Instagram lead ads
Sign in with Facebook, pick your Pages, and leads from their lead forms arrive in the CRM within seconds.
Leads from the lead forms on your Facebook Pages, and from Instagram lead ads, can arrive in the CRM within seconds of being filled in. You connect each Page once.
You need the owner, admin or manager role, and a Facebook profile that is an admin of the Page.
Connect a Page
- Open Lead sources.
- In the Facebook & Instagram lead ads section, press Connect a Page. (You can also press New source and pick Facebook & Instagram, or click the Facebook Lead Ads tile, marked NEW, under Lead sources in Contact center → Apps.)
- Sign in with the Facebook profile that manages your Page, and allow access.
- Back in the CRM, a window asks Which Pages should send their leads here? Tick the Pages and press Connect 1 Page (the button counts the Pages you ticked).
The Page's window opens with Connected. at the top. New leads from its forms now arrive by themselves.
Check a Page's state
Each connected Page is listed in the Facebook & Instagram lead ads section with its leads count and when the last one came. Its label says:
- Receiving leads: all is well.
- Paused: the Page is switched off in the CRM.
- Needs reconnecting: the link to Facebook stopped working, and the window says why. Open the Page and press Connect again, signing in with a profile that is an admin of the Page.
To test the connection, send a test lead with Meta's Lead Ads Testing Tool. It shows up under Recent leads.
Set what every lead from the Page becomes
Click the Page to open its window, then choose Lead defaults. These settings apply to every form on the Page, unless a form has its own.
- What each lead becomes: a lead, or a contact with a company and a deal, plus records in your own modules. For each, choose what happens When one is already there: Make a new one, Merge, Replace or Leave it.
- Who gets them: One person, Round robin — people or Round robin — a department.
- Source label: the source written on each record, for example "Facebook Ads".
- Hidden fields: fixed values written on every record from this Page, such as a branch or a product.
Press Save.
Because a lead ad comes from Facebook, Replace really does write the lead's answers over the matched record's fields. Choose Merge to only fill empty fields. (On a CRM form for your website, which anyone can fill in, there is no Replace: the nearest choice is Merge, flag changes. See Choose what a form creates.)
Switch off or disconnect a Page
In the Page's window, the On / Off switch stops or restarts taking its leads. The bin icon disconnects the Page; Facebook stops sending its leads, and leads already in the CRM stay.
